Search

Configure Raffle Search for a widget: Raffle Summary, instant answers, autocomplete, highlighting and the number of results.

Each widget has its own search settings, so you can configure every widget differently. If you want several widgets to behave the same, apply the same settings to each one.

  1. Go to Widgets
  2. Select the widget to modify
  3. Open the Search tab

The Search tab is only available when Raffle Search is enabled for the widget (see General). The preview on the right updates as you change settings, but nothing reaches your website until you click Save at the top of the page. Reset discards unsaved changes.

You can change the texts of the search, such as the input placeholder, under Text.

Raffle Summary

Click the Raffle Summary card to unfold it.

The Raffle Summary card

The Raffle Summary card

  • Enable Raffle Summary shows a generated answer above the search results that sums up the most relevant results. The other options appear once it’s on.
  • Multilingual Summary writes the summary in the language of the question, even if your content is in another language. For example, a visitor asking in Italian gets an Italian summary of your English pages.
  • Tone of Voice: Formal or Informal.
  • Answer Willingness sets how strictly the summary sticks to the search results. Conservative only uses the results that match the question closely; Progressive also draws on less closely related results. The difference shows mostly when your content doesn’t fully answer the question.
  • Show Summary Disclaimer shows a note below the summary reminding visitors that AI-generated summaries may not always be fully accurate. Change its wording under Text.

You can’t edit a generated summary by hand. See Models for how it is produced.

Instant Answer Length

The number of lines of an instant answer shown before the visitor unfolds it. The minimum is 2 lines. This only matters if the widget uses an instant answers source.

Search options

  • Autocomplete suggests questions while the visitor types, based on what other visitors searched for.
  • Text Fragment Highlighting scrolls to and highlights the text of the answer when a visitor opens a result. It doesn’t unfold collapsed sections (“accordions”) on the target page.
  • Display url in search results (web) and Display url in search results (mobile) show the page URL under each result. The web setting applies to screens wider than 500px, the mobile setting to narrower ones.

Whether links open in the same tab is set on the General tab, under Open links in the same tab.

Search Results Limit

The maximum number of results a search returns, from 1 to 100. If you leave it empty, public widgets return 10 results and internal widgets 25.
