A widget is how Raffle appears on your website. Each widget has a layout that decides where it sits on the page and how visitors open it. Raffle offers four layouts: Launcher, Pill, Overlay and Embedded. If you’d rather build your own interface, create an API widget instead.
All your widgets are listed under Widgets, with their layout, data sources and scope. Click a widget to open it, or click Add new widget to create one.
The Widgets page with one widget of each type
When you create a widget, select Widget as the type, then pick a layout. See Create a widget for the full flow.
Picking a layout for a new widget
You can change the layout of an existing widget later in its General tab, under Template. Click Save to apply the change.
The Template card in the General tab
The widget editor shows a live preview of your widget on a blank page. Use the buttons above the preview to switch between the desktop and phone view. The screenshots below come from that preview.
A button in the bottom corner of your website that opens a panel with search, chat or both. It’s a good choice for most websites, because it is always at hand without taking up space on the page.
An open launcher widget
On phones, the open launcher fills the screen.

You can choose which side of the screen the launcher sits on, and style its button, in the Branding tab.
A chat-first input docked to the bottom of your website, with your top questions shown above it. The pill is for chat only.
A pill widget docked at the bottom of the page
By default the pill floats over the page. You can also place it inside an element on your page, with Mount inside element in the Branding tab, for example to give a page a full-page chat. The pill then fills the height of that element, so the element needs a height. The pill is at least 480px high.
A page can have only one pill, and not a pill and a launcher together. See Multiple widgets.
Opens Raffle in an overlay on top of your website, so visitors can search without distractions.
An overlay widget on top of the page
A search bar that is part of your page content, for example on a help centre or search page. Results open right below it. In the General tab, enter the Element selector: the CSS selector of the element on your page where the widget should appear, for example #target-element.

If none of the layouts fits your website, create an API widget and build your own interface on top of Raffle. See Create an API widget and the API documentation.
