This section is about Raffle’s own MCP server: connecting AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot to your Raffle knowledge.
To do the opposite, and connect your own MCP server so that Raffle’s chat can call its tools, add it as a source. See MCP server source.
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets AI assistants call external tools during a conversation. By connecting your Raffle knowledge base as an MCP server, AI platforms can search your content automatically when answering questions.
The Raffle MCP server exposes one search tool. It takes a query and returns the most relevant results from your knowledge base, each with its title, URL and content.

The AI assistant fills in these arguments itself; you don’t need to set them.
You need an API widget set up in Raffle. The MCP server URL is tied to the UID of that widget.
The Widget Description tells the AI when and why it should search your knowledge base. A clear, specific description leads to better, more targeted tool calls.
Open your API widget, go to the General tab, and scroll down to the MCP Configuration section. Enter your description in the Widget Description field. For example:
Search [Company Name]'s product documentation, FAQs, and support articles. Use this tool when answering questions about [product or topic], troubleshooting issues, or looking up features and pricing.
Click Install on your API widget. The Install dialog shows the widget’s MCP URL, with a button to copy it. It is built from the UID of the widget:
https://mcp.raffle.ai/experimental/{UID}/widgets/mcp

Once connected, ask your AI assistant a question that should be answered from your knowledge base. If the widget description is clear, the assistant will automatically invoke the Raffle search tool and include the results in its response.
